It’s a Tuesday night, you’re in fabulous company, it’s late and you’re a couple of glasses of champagne down – but you’re not ready to curtail the night. London is your oyster. You’re young, your reckless and you’re looking for a good time (with your trousers on*). The answer? You my friend need a round of crazy golf!
*You may choose to play crazy golf without your trousers, but I suspect the management at Swingers will ask you to leave.
Swingers had been on my ‘must do’ list for sometime, so obviously I was rather excited to get my best putting game on, even after a drink or two.
Swingers Crazy Golf (London) Review
Nestled in the shadow of The Gherkin in The City, Swingers has two courses to choose from, The Lighthouse (pictured, above) and The Windmill, both fun and challenging in equal measures across nine holes, featuring intricate hazards and more fake foliage than you can shake a
stick club at. In fairness to the guys behind Swingers, they’ve done a great job with the décor, achieving a cool vintage golf-club vibe, complete with gin terrace. A hipster’s dream.
Some of the courses involve a loop-the-loop (pictured below), bridges, ramps and even a rotating lighthouse that adds to the excitement.
It’s not just about golf at Swingers though – patrons can have just an equally enjoyable night relaxing at one of the five bars dotted about the venue serving swanky cocktails, let alone the food outlets from well-known purveyors of delicious London grub Pizza Pilgrims, Le Bab (a favourite of RobsRibs) and Patty & Bun.
Swingers is good fun, whether you’re with a bunch of friends, colleagues or perhaps a hot date it’s a great shout at £13 a head and a fantastic way to kill a couple of hours, enjoy some drinks and have a bit of a laugh along the way.
There’s plenty of cool stuff springing up in London that puts together novelty entertainment and drinks (and who doesn’t love that?), such as Bounce (ping-pong) and Flight Club (darts), but this should certainly rank high on your to-do list.
Walk-ins are accepted but this being London and a cool venue, I’d suggest you book ahead to avoid almost certain disappointment; head over to http://swingersldn.com. If you’re in the area, we recommend a visit to Ember beforehand for some cocktails and a bite to eat, located just around the corner – or, with the weather improving, perhaps a visit to one of London’s best rooftop bars.
I know what you’re wondering – did I win? Of course I did… 😉
