London’s Newest Rooftop Bar – Skylight, Tobacco Dock

If you haven’t already seen, I’m a big fan of London rooftop bars; there’s a great collection of bars and restaurants with sterling views of the capital, but there’s a new kid on the block that offers something a little different.

Skylight, Tobacco Dock

A converted multi-storey carpark in Wapping might not be your first thought when presented with options to spend an evening, but Skylight is the newest kid on the block of the London rooftop scene, opening earlier this year.

However, things have got really quite snazzy with the opening of their rooftop ice-rink for the winter period, offering iceskating fans the chance to glide along the ice whilst taking in unobstructed views of London’s finest stretches of The City’s skyline.

I popped along, in a rather inebriated state, and had an absolute blast. It’s quite a cute setup, perfect for hanging with a bunch of friends or perhaps suitable for as a more intimate venue for a date.

Alongside the rink, Skylight is a great social hangout with bar (ciders, mulled wine, craft beers etc), street food, DJs *and* cheese fondue. Cheese fondue AND ice skating. I know, OMG, right? I can personally vouch for that fondue too, it’s a good’un.

Entry is FREE to Skylight with tickets for the ice-skating available from £10. For more information, check out Skylight.

It’s a great night out, there’s cheese, cider, ice skating and stunning views. I highly recommend making a visit this winter. Don’t miss out my other rooftop bar suggestions, or ideas of quirky and alternative things to do in London.
